The Topic Structure of Psychedelics and Psychotherapy in Academic Literature: Exploring a Synergistic Potential
Abstract
Psychedelic research is re-emerging and gaining scholarly interest given its promising therapeutic potential in mental health and addiction treatment (Carhart-Harris & Goodwin, 2017). To further understand how this second wave of psychedelic research is studied, the authors employ a topic modeling tool called LDA to analyze the psychedelics with psychotherapy corpus for expletory analysis in literature reviews. This examination enables a comprehensive understanding of how these substances are being studied and sheds light on this rapidly growing therapeutic landscape, as efforts are made to transition it from a limited, legally and geo-accessibly bound treatment into a bonafide clinical space.
