Persistent Psychedelic-Associated Mental Disorders
Abstract
This project investigates persistent psychological and perceptual alterations following the use of psychedelics and entactogens. It focuses on post-acute and enduring symptoms such as visual perceptual changes, depersonalization/derealization, psychotic-like and trauma-related symptoms, as well as potential moderating and coping factors. The project comprises multiple sub-studies employing retrospective self-report measures, neuropsychological assessment, qualitative interviews, questionnaire development, and the evaluation of coping strategies. The overarching aim is to differentiate symptom profiles, identify risk and protective factors, and improve the understanding of mechanisms relevant to prevention and supportive interventions.
