Ketamine-assisted Therapy for Depression: Scoping Review

OSFApr 7, 2026

Abstract

This scoping review explores the current literature on ketamine-assisted therapy for depression. Specifically, this review seeks to better understand the current status of ketamine combined with psychological or other therapies as a treatment for depression. Due to the emerging nature of ketamine as a psychotherapeutic adjunct, clinical research trials and case studies will be considered along with recommendations and guidelines for future clinical practice and research designs. The scoping method was chosen as this review aims to explore existing research and identify gaps in the evidence base. This study will later inform a Delphi study.
