Ketamine and Esketamine for PTSD: Randomized Controlled Trials and Systematic Reviews Evidence Dataset
Abstract
This dataset compiles the published clinical evidence on ketamine and esketamine for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews/meta-analyses identified through August 18, 2026. The dataset contains 31 evidence records: 10 published randomized PTSD-outcome reports and 21 systematic reviews or meta-analyses. The randomized reports represent approximately nine independent trial families because some publications use overlapping participant samples. The spreadsheet includes study design, sample size, comparator, administration route, PTSD population, treatment protocol, outcomes, effect direction, evidence-quality tier, publication identifiers and links, related records, and methodological notes or caveats. Trials evaluating treatment of established PTSD are distinguished from studies examining prevention or subsequent development of PTSD following acute trauma. Secondary publications and overlapping cohorts are identified to reduce double-counting. The accompanying README documents the inclusion criteria, deduplication rules, notable exclusions, unpublished or registered trials, and important considerations for interpreting the dataset.
