Investigating public attitudes towards MDMA versus heroin, and to alternative packaging styles for MDMA

OSFAug 3, 2021

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate if predictors of intention to support drug legalisation differ for MDMA and heroin. Meaning, are there different reasons people might support MDMA legalisation but not heroin, and vice versa. In addition, this study also aims to investigate whether attitudes toward MDMA legalisation are influenced by exposure to different packaging styles which could be used to regulate the substance. We will be examining factors that help to understand why people may or may not support the legalisation of illicit drugs. This will help to address any fears or worries people have regarding illicit drug legalisation, as well as inform public health or drug reform campaigns.
