Opinions about Psychedelics: Updated Survey Before Full Launch
Abstract
This study assesses opinions about psychedelic use among U.S. adults, with an emphasis on interfaces with supernatural, spiritual, and religious beliefs. This is an updated preregistration after running a pilot of 30 participants, before the first full launch (which will be 300 participants). After seeing that many people were taking substantially less than 20 minutes to complete the survey, we are adding back in a few items that we had deleted before due to time constraints, including several demographic items (marital status, sexual orientation, occupation), one slider item on attitudes (are psychedelics a threat vs. an opportunity?), and a question about whether you know anyone who has taken a psychedelic. We are also adding one open-ended item at the end where people can give opinions about the survey--a "Is there anything else you'd like to say?" item just before the survey's end. The purpose of this revised registration is simply to upload this revised survey before re-launching and completing this first wave of 300 participants.
