The Effects of Psychedelics and Cannabinoids on Move-ment-Related Outcomes Following Neurological Conditions: A Scoping Review
Abstract
Despite preclinical research and anecdotal evidence for the efficacy of psychoactive substances to treat movement-related symptoms in neurological conditions, there is little evidence to guide clinical practice or research. The purpose of this scoping review was to synthesize the current state of evidence investigating the use of psychedelics and can-nabinoids for movement-related symptoms in individuals with neurological conditions. The review was conducted using PubMed, Cochrane Registry, Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro), Web of Science, CINAHL, and Embase. Eligible studies included adults > 18 years old receiving a psychedelic or cannabinoid for treatment of a neuro-logical condition with movement-related outcomes measures.
