The Effects of Psychedelic Psychotherapy on Delay Discounting in Individuals with Substance Use Disorders
Abstract
This project aims to investigate the effects of psychedelic psychotherapy on delay discounting in individuals with methamphetamine use disorder. Patients will be given the following three assessments in one task: 5-trial adjusting delay task, 5-trial adjusting effort task, and 5-trial adjusting probability task. Using these assessments, k values (measures of discounting) will be obtained for study participants prior to initiation of treatment, upon treatment completion and 6 months post-treatment. Subsequently, k values will be analyzed to determine any changes in discounting rates.
